Hello.

My name is Hema and I’m the principal designer + owner behind Happy Home Interiors. I have always had a passion for interior design, fashion and events. Ever since I was a little girl, you would find me rearranging rooms (literally moving furniture around), organizing (to make things flow better) and create endless DIYs in décor and fashion. I was all about making things function better while making it look beautiful.

My career path into interior design was not a typical path, still it is one I’m grateful for because they were stepping stones that lead to my true calling. Before my interior design career, I was in digital marketing for 15 years. During this time, I found myself venturing back into the design world many times. In my early days, I went back to school to pursue a fashion design diploma. In the process, I fell in love with fabrics and textiles. I learnt how to play with color, mix patterns and textures. These have become my signature design elements for interior styling.

I  moonlighted as a wedding and event planner, which eventually ended up as a full-time business for 10 years. I love weddings, as much as I love interior design. I loved the connection with my clients from spending weeks and months planning their special day. I loved all the special touches and details to create that wow factor. I believe that good design is in the details. My most favorite moment of every project was seeing the reaction of the bride and groom on their wedding day. This was the most satisfying feeling and it confirmed a job well done. I have the exact same feelings behind every interior design project at Happy Home Interiors. It’s what motivates me everyday.

The transition from weddings to interiors was natural for me since I had already started to take on small interior decorating projects for friends, which soon spread to their friends and people I didn’t know. I decided to go back to school to get my diploma in interior design. Combined with my own personal experiences in design and business, Happy Home Interiors was born!
